Petty Officer 1st Class Nick Beaver from the Coast Guard Cutter Kingfisher looks on as crews from the Atlantic Coast Disentanglement Network, coordinated by the Povincetown Center for Coastal Studies and NOAA. The crew of the Kingfisher helped locate the whale and transported disentanglement crews to the aid of the whale. A NOAA fisheries law enforcement officer measures the tri-net on board the Miss Coral J. The net used for commercial fishing on the vessel was illegally being used to capture shrimp.
