Coast Guard, Maine Marine Patrol to amend formal partnership agreement to safeguard state waterways

FALMOUTH, Maine - A signing ceremony to amend the Memorandum of Agreement between the Maine Marine Patrol and the Coast Guard regarding enforcement of federal safety and security zones is scheduled for Wednesday.

This change will authorize local police departments to enforce federal safety and security zones. The Falmouth Police Department will become the first agency to execute an agreement like this.

When: 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2008
