BOSTON - A Coast Guard crew is towing a disabled fishing vessel with three people aboard after the boat became disabled and adrift about 110 miles south of Mount Desert Island, Maine, today.

Coast Guard Sector Northern New England received a VHF radio call at approximately 11:30 a.m., from the West Head, a 42-foot gill netter from Cundys Harbor, Maine, reporting their boat was disabled due to a blown engine oil cooler.

The Coast Guard Cutter Moray, an 87-foot patrol boat from Jonesport, Maine, arrived on scene at approximately 5 p.m. and had the vessel in tow around 5:45 p.m.

The crew of the Moray is towing the vessel to Portland Harbor, Maine. They are expected to arrive around 7 a.m. Monday.

No injuries have been reported.

"It's great to be able to help these fishermen out," said Lt. Patrick Petrarca, the command duty officer at the First District Operations Center in Boston. "The Moray crew is getting the fishermen to shore as quickly and safely as possible."
