KEY WEST, Fla. – The Charleston, S.C., based Coast Guard Cutter Gallatin is on its way to New Orleans to assist with relief operations after hurricane Rita and Katrina devastated the area. Here SK2 Gavino Ortiz of the Gallatin logs boxes of meals, ready-to-eat, which will be sent to New Orleans. This is just a small portion of the much-needed humanitarian relief supplies provided by the American Red Cross that the Gallatin will deliver. The crew of the Gallatin is expected to arrive in New Orleans today.
