Clipper Pacific DepartsTampa

TAMPA, Fla. - The Bahamian-flagged cruise ship Clipper Pacific departed the Port of Tampa at 12 a.m. Tuesday after extensive repairs.

The United States Coast Guard worked with the vessel's Flag Administration, the Bahamas, and Classification Society, Bureau Veritas, to ensure that the vessel met all applicable international and domestic safety and security standards.  The Clipper Pacific was cleared to depart the Port of Tampa at approximately 6 p.m. Monday.

Repairs to the vessel included the replacement of a 5-foot by 6-foot section of the hull and additional repairs to the vessel's internal structure.

While the vessel was undergoing the repairs, more than 900 Clipper Pacific passengers stayed in local area hotels.
